Let's start with what "Star Wars Celebration" is. "Star Wars Celebration" is like an official Star Wars Con. It's the San Diego Comic-Con of Star Wars.
So the 6th Star Wars Celebration was last weekend, and a few things were announced at it.
- The smaller news: Some of you may know this, but apparently there's gonna be a live-action Star Wars TV Show! It's set to take place in between episodes 3 and 4. That ought to be interesting. It could fail, but then again, it could go very well. The fact that it's not animated is what really gotten me interested in this show. Let's hope it makes it to TV.
- The bigger news: Remember the 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode I back in February? Well, it did o.k at the box office. (for those of you that want a more details on what "o.k" is, the re-release made $43,456,382 domestically.) Apparently, o.k is good enough for a green light to make Episodes 2 and 3 in 3D. That's not the big news. The big news is that both episodes 2 and 3 will be re-released in the same year. Both of the 3D films will be released it 2013! Why is this exciting? Having 2 films in one year means we only have to wait 2 years for the original Star Wars film (episode 4) instead of 3! Yesh, yesh, Luke will soon become the new hope...
